Is Everything That Happens The Will of God?

How To Birth God’s Will with Prayer

To understand the concept of the will of God and why we need pray. Let’s consider our world and how it works. In our world today, three (3) actors influence everything we see happen. These actors are God, Man (humans), and Satan. Everything you see happening on earth today is influenced or should I say “Initiated” by one of these actors. God is the creator of the earth where we live in (Genesis 1:1), and He has legally handed the earth he created to Man (humans) to be the caretaker and governor of the earth (Psalms 115:16). God, who is a Spirit, has a good “will” – What he desires to see happen on earth (Jeremiah 29:11). Man (humans) as an occupant and caretaker of the earth has a “will.” Satan who is a spirit, and the last actor here also has an evil “will” that he wants played out on earth. All these actors desire to see their “wills” come to pass or acted on earth. However, since man is the legal occupant and governor of the earth. Only Man has the power to bring to pass whatever God or Satan wills. To say it another way, What God wants does not automatically happen here on earth, and whatever the Devil wants does not automatically come to pass here on earth. In both cases, man as the central actor must cooperate and decide what script is played here on earth – God’s script (God’s will), Man’s script (Man’s will), and Satan script (Satan’s evil will). Now, you may say, I thought God is all powerful, and everything that happens is what God wills? Well, God is all powerful, but he has limited himself by his Word and he doesn’t violet his words. As we have established earlier, God has given man dominion over the earth, and he cannot override that legal right. See it this way, for instance, you may own a house and rent it out to a tenant. Afterwards, though it’s still your house, the tenant has rights and claims over the premises and you as the landlord, you are limited and restricted in what you can do because of the tenancy agreement or contract. You dare not barge into your tenant’s bedroom uninvited. You need his consent and cooperation. Thus, both God and Satan cannot force their “wills” on earth without the cooperation and consent of the tenant (Man).

In a nutshell the will of the Devil for Man and the earth is clear. To kill, to steal and to destroy (John 10:10). This can occur is diverse forms (disaster, conflict, sickness, diseases, poverty, lack etc) but its endgame is to kill, steal, and destroy. God’s will on other hand is good and excellent. Some of which are stated as “for I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2). These are few of God’s will and plans for your life. However, as I stated earlier, they don’t come to pass automatically without your consent and cooperation, and that brings me to my main point! That is, Prayer is a means of bringing Gods will to pass in our lives and on earth. As legal occupants of the earth, when we pray, we are aligning our wills to God’s will to enable his will manifest here on earth. In fact, when Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, in the prayer template he added “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth” (Matthew 6:10).  This then tells us that God’s will won’t automatically come to pass on earth, we have to pray it into manifestation. In another instance, Jesus when speaking about potential souls to be won into the kingdom of God referred to this purpose of prayer… “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Luke:1:2). Jesus described here that the people (harvest)  to be saved are much, however the laborers (evangelists/believers) who will win them over into the kingdom are scarce. This in a nutshell is God’s will (saving people, see 1 Timothy 2:3-4, and 2 Peter 3:9). Hence, Jesus urged the disciples to pray in order for the will of God (sending laborers into the field for harvest) to come to past. There it is again! Evangelism which is also part of God’s will for our dying world is prayer dependent. This I believe establishes the fact that prayer helps birth God’s will here on earth and in our lives. Therefore, child of God, do you have any need or desire you are yet to see manifested? Take it to the place of prayer. Do you desire healing, financial breakthrough, restoration, or any miracle you know its God’s will for you? Take it to your heavenly father in prayer and assuredly you will see the manifestation.
